Slant'd Magazine Issue 01

Slant'd is a new publication celebrating Asian American culture and its "bad asians" — those willing to bend and break the rules to change society. For the inaugural print magazine, I had the honor of researching, writing and illustrating a piece about salt and pepper fried chicken, a Taiwanese street food classic. The story connects the snack’s Western origins to innovations in Asia, then back to the States where it continues to undergo new innovations in the intersection of Asian and American.
